Do braxton hicks hurt?

When i googled most websites seem to say they are painless- just uncomfortable. Yet Ive asked a few people and they told me they can be quite nasty!

i had som painfull ones esp when babys head was engaging.... but normaly they are just ment to be uncomfortale but i guess sometimes they do hurt x

They can be pretty uncomfortable, but compared to contractions.. they're nothing.
