Confused

Yesterday i went to the hospital because my discharge was watery and clear with a metalic type smell, can't really describe it better. they did a swab and said it was due to thrush, but that day i had lower back pain which was quite uncomfortable but lasted only a few minutes and when i got the hospital i got on the bed and had it again. i was sent home after a checkup with a pill to insert into my vagina. Now i did that, but woke up in the middle of the night twice with bad period type pains and not knowing what to do i went to the bathroom because it felt like i should do it to relieve it, it did but it happened again an hour later and ever since the second time ive been sore. I have had nothing since it all seems to have cracked off yesterday. never had it before. if it was labour they would have said right? but all they said was i had thrush basically.
and another thing that baffled me and my husband, we went in on mothers day for something different and they monitered her heartbeat and she explained the other one and she said it measures contractions or something and i was on 5 this time i started on 20 and went up 66 at one point but stayed at 44 or 30 most of the time. she said it only goes up to 100. the doctor looked at it and said it was normal.

Don't ya just love doctors.

What the 'contraction' monitor was picking up would have been normal uterine tightenings that happen all the time but are pretty much unfelt by you. So I wouldnt worry too much about that. If your pains and discharge continue though, I would be seeing the hosp or your gp again to check it isnt some other type of infection, but hopefully the treatment they have given you for thrush will make you feel better xxx

Sounds like your body is definitely getting ready to birth your beautiful baby! Braxton Hicks that get stronger and stronger leading up to the birth is normal for some women. If the discharge gets a funny odour or colour and you're experiencing pain that you're finding hard to manage then let your midwife know ASAP.

All the best, hun.
