Please help me decide!!!

We are currently in between two different Baby Monitors............

Its either the Angelsounds Sensor Mat

or the BT 150.

My oh thinks that the Angelsounds monitor will cause more anxiety then nessesary though as alot of reviews say that it goes off often due to false alarms.

The BT150 does not have a sensor pad and i have heard good reveiews on it.

Im so stuck and we only have 7 weeks left so ideally it would be good to get it now.

Would love your opinions on them etc.

I would rather have false alarms and find baby has moved out of the area etc then to not know if it goes off when needed. From my research people did say angel sounds can false alarm but that means it's sensitive and if baby hasn't taken a breath (movement in that time) I want to know asap.
I went with Angel Sounds

i would go with the angel sounds one definatly. i love the reassurance of having a sensor pad, we have the tommee tippee one and it is great (well it was when i used them with the twins i nanny for, haven't used ours yet, but it is there ready for when hes born)

I was torn between those two as well, but we've decided to go with the BT monitor. It gets great reviews everywhere but I've read positive and negative about the Angelsounds.

One thing that put me off was that the Foundation for the Study of Infant Death don't recommend the sensor mats. They reckon that parents become too complacent and don't check on their babies often enough, assuming that if there's a problem the mat will detect it. Sounds a bit extreme but who knows?

I don't know - I think it's a personal decision everyone makes. We're going with the BT one, but I can see the argument for the Angelsounds too. Good luck!

I have the angelsounds one to, although I obviously haven't used it yet the reason I choose it was I liked the idea of a sensor mat as thought this would be good to use at night when sleeping so it will wake you up if there are any problems.

I did consider the tommee tippee one but I liked the fact the angel monitor lets you know what temperature the room is whereas the TT one doesn't (As far as im aware) and it was something like £30 cheaper

If for any reason it is a waste of money and alarm constantly going off without reason then they have to accept it back within 12months so you could always change it.

I went for the BT for the same reasons beckstar pointed out about the sensor mats on the angelsounds put me off. the BT has good reviews and it does the job fine according to friends I have that have it. but it is a personal choice at the end of the day go with whatever your gut instinct is telling you.I always wanted the BT one anyway

We have the angelsounds one and I love it. It really doesn't go off all the time - Sam's in a big cotbed and it's gone off a couple of times when he's been right down one end lying sideways against the bottom of the cot, but he ends up down there a lot and it usually doesn't go off. In all the months we've had it I've probably had to get up 3 or 4 times when it's gone off, and I'd much rather have that and have to move him back into the middle a couple of times than not know if something did happen. If it was going off every other night for no reason it would be annoying but it really is very sensitive, and I think if he was in something smaller we wouldn't have any problems! x
