Question

Finding work impossible-I'm exhausted

hello everyone, I'm new and would like to introduce myself. My name is Rhian, I'm 28 and a married mother to a six year old daughter and nearly two year old son. I'm 29 weeks gone with another little boy and finding the whole experience an absolute nightmare now. I'm knackered, feeling ill and worried about how I'm going to cope at work next week. Neither of my other two pregnancies were a joy- both came at 37 weeks and I was sick all the way through. But I did manage to work up until the end on both. But this baby is a whole different kettle of fish. I can't breathe properly and spend all day puffing and panting- climbing the stairs to pee is a chore some days. I'm also having a lot of painful tightenings and pains down my side and under my bump. I don't know what to do for the best. I'm in a new job which I started at 12 weeks, and I'll feel like such a lazy failiure if I don't stick it out until the end. Has anyone got any advice please???

You're not superwoman hun. There are some times when we just have to admit defeat and look after ourselves for a change. As littlelady said, you can start your maternity at 29 weeks. Why dont you just tell them you're finishing earlier than planned and have some 'me' time before the baby comes.

Well, I've got a fortnight and a day's holidays owing to me that I have to take before my maternity leave, so I suppose that will take me a bit closer to my dates. I feel 78 not 28. The thing is, I didn't expect to feel this unfit and unwell all the time. I mentioned to my husband that I'd like to finish at 34 weeks about a fortnight ago, and he was really shocked and disappointed.

I'd like to see him carry round a bowling ball for 9 months!!!! Sometimes men can be so inconsiderate. You do want you need to do hun. Is is a money issue? Is that why he's worried?

My husband values happiness according to our bank balance (which incidently has never been great but we've still got a happy marriage and two very happy kids). Also, he drives for 3 hours a day to get to his job -leaves at 5.30, gets home at 20.00 and works a 11 hour shift in between. I think he feels that I have no right to be 'lazy' when he has to work so hard.

Blimey thats a long day if he has to travel that far but pregnancy isn't quite his situation ... its tiring, hard work & draining ... I work from home & I've had enough. Taking MAT leave from 36 weeks.

they wanted me to work 7 days a week and do 12 hour shifts
Is that even legal hours/days!!

yep it was legal as it was a seasonal job as long as there was a 12 hour gap in the end of your shift and the begining of the next i wanted to stay till i was about 8 months gone but it didnt work out that way i was supposed to be sexing the company for unfair dismissal but it was too much hassle no one was treated the correct way but it was such a large company i kinda didnt stand much of a chance alone lol but remember listen to your body if its telling you to slowdown and rest then do it
