possible c-section

Well....

I went for my 39 week appointment today and the doc had not so good news. The baby is still really high, even he was a bit surprised. He said at this point the head should be in the pelvis to get things moving along and I've had no progress. He's convinced I'm gonna go overdue and doesn't think this week will change anything. He said I'm narrow and maybe the baby (even though "not a big baby") may not be able to fall into the pelvis. So next week he's gonna do an internal exam to check the situation and then make a decision as to whether proceed with a c-section because there's no reason to keep waiting for a long and hard labour (I think he ment if I got induced) I asked him again if he thought anything would change at this point to get a clear answer and he said no.

So I'm now mentally preparing for the possibility of having a section.....

Ah hun... well at least you've now got an explanation for no signs... so that's a good thing, obviously little one is too comfy, and if you do have a narrow pelvis at least they're thinking of doing what's best for you (and not making you go through too much pain unnecessarily!)

How do you feel about a c-section? Is it something you're okay with?

I have thought about it throughout this pregnancy because for many years now due to my small frame I wondered whether I would be able to birth naturally. At this point, I am ok with it, it's just a bit scary. But I'm glad I got a bit of answer today considering there has been no signs of any sort.

Well hun, if you're okay with it, then it's probably the best for you and baby! Glad they're making sure they do what's right for you!!

Tons of babies stay high and do not engage until labor and small frame really has not a lot to do with your ability to deliver. You would be amazed at how the joints will loosen and relax for birth. There is still a great chance that you will be able to have a vag delivery.

Good Luck Hun!

Grrr... that sounds like crap to me! I say labor away!! If it works.. great! If it doesn't.. you'll still end up with a section anyway. Everyone deserves a trial of labor, because you have no idea what the body can actually do! Stick up for yourself!

I'm with Dolcebella on this one, wait and see what happens when you're in labour. A few contractions will force your LO down. If you're not making any progress in labour then it's time to talk C sections.

Have you tried exercises to help your LO engage such as walking, swimming etc??
