SPD

Who here has had this?

I need to ask a few question...can it be diffrent type of pain in person to person?

I had it mild on Coby and it was mostly on one side, it hurt like mad if i sat down for to long then got up if that made sense, so standing up seemed the best option, untill i sat down then it got worse.

Over the past few weeks i have been feeling like someone has kicked me down below, i have just put it down to pressure, but over the past few days its got wrose and now its risen up to my whole pelvis area, it aches and throbs like mad and i get stabbing pains there too. im finding it harder to walk about, when i take the kids to school i have to put most of my weight on the pushchair to get there and back, feel slike im useing a zimmer frame lol
I find i can only take little steps and i cant walk very fast atall, its almost like my legs and pevlis have forgoten how to walk.

Is this SPD? do i need to contact my midwife you think?

Thanks

... Layla I don't know what walking is anymore! Ive put it all down with normal from what you girls have said. Certainly pressure and sharp feelinsg down there and total ache to get up and down etc.

I would see your MW anyway going to be doing same I think on 16th she didn't seem worried last time.

Aww Layla, it does sound like SPD hun, so sorry.

You've described exactly how I felt, intense pressure, the 'kicked' feeling, the pain when walking, and the feeling that you need to hold onto something when you walk. I ended up on crutches and really struggled to walk, but that was acute. I hope you don't have it that bad hun as it is awful. In the back of my mind is always the thought that I may get it worse with the next pregnancy, as I have no idea how I'm going to walk on crutches whilst pushing a pushchair!

Go and see your mw Layla, she can refer to to physio and they can get you a support belt which will help.

Aww hun, I really feel for you.

I know it'll come back for me next time and it is something we talked about as soon as I had Charlie before ttc number 3. DH is really worried about how much pain I'll be in and how I'll cope, but I keep telling him that it's only 3-5 months of pain for me, and for that we get another little child. That's worth the pain for me.

I had SPD with my first pregnancy.. it got so bad I was shuffling to and from the corner shop... took me about 40 minutes to walk a 10 minute journey.. The pain was mostly in the front of my pelvis and it felt like someone kept stabbing a knife in there and twisting it about... It really hurt..

This time round it started much earlier around 20 weeks I seem to remember, and I have trouble doing anything that involves me lifting weights. So carrying my daughter's back pack down stairs or the shopping is incredibly painful. I don't know if it will get worse.. but the pains are more frequent as I am getting bigger. This time I have a lot of pain in my coccyx and lower back around my pelvis, which is due to a back injury I got at 15 weeks.

I did go and buy myself a big Gymball... and when it gets all too painful... instead of popping the useless paracetamol the GP gave me... I go have a bounce on my gymball.. Its really helps I think they are doing a deal on them in Lidls in the UK atm.
