id get a sweep done hun, they are not that bad honest, i had one on Coby and then Had DIY ones every night after that. Ok it didnt work for me lol but i know its worked for others.
Aww K you must be fed up but it CAN'T be much longer now.
A sweep started my labour off, I'd give it a go - at least then the MW can say if your cervix is favourable or if it's too high and at the back. When I had my sweep she said I was 1 cm dialated and that gave me motivation.
Surely if sex doesnt work-ie a willy and semen which has the hormone they induce you with in it-will a sweep work? I know I should want to try everything but...
Im way scared of having MW's fingers shoved up as I feel so tender!
Layla up here they only book an induction for term +10,so my MW said she can book me in tomorrow for induction on Monday.xxxx
aww hun from what i hear sweeps are painful but if it can get the ball rolling then maybe give it a try. surely it cant be more painful than being induced?
I had 5 sweeps in all and they are uncomfy but dont hurt at all,well I didnt think so. The last one would say it worked as in got me stretchy. They put two fingers around the cervix then they put a finger inside the membranes to try to release whats inside (like a mesh netting) this shoudl then thin you out a bit. Sex all the semen does is release prostaglandin which works same as stuff they give you to induce but is not as concentrated as the artificial stuff.

Kx, with a sweep they touch and stretch your cervix but I honestly couldn't feel it at all, just was aware of a bit of pressure. A willy wouldn't be able to do that, hence why it's safe to have sex during pregnancy!
I would definitely try it if it meant avoiding an induction
Would they do a sweep without tellin u? Cos i dont recall bein asked if i want one, but at the hospital i had a internal which like u girls are sayin is uncomftable but didnt hurt and the next day i went into labour!!

i guess they prob could, its so quick and easy, jase was doing it in the end.
When i had mine i just went in for a check up, i asked her if i could have a sweep and she said she was going to do one anyway, so if i hadnt of asked i dont think she would of said anthing.
Tried sex, painful and not doing the trick.
