I'm Currently Feeling: | Well if baby is ok its not selfish to want to go home - Im with Louise and as long as theres not a slight concern I will go home asap anything slight will of course make me stay.

I'm Currently Feeling: | im not saying that louise is selfish for wanting to go home if her baby is fine etc. all im saying is not to get her heart set on going home straight away and to listen to the nurses and the reasons they give if they want her and baby to stay in |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I was induced with my first. My gyno broke my waters at 6pm and said, he will see how I go through the night, if nothing starts up then he will give me the drugs to bring on labour ( he was confident I would go into labour on my own) well he was called back to the hospital just after midnight and my son was born at 12:41am. My gyno called me a locomotive, he was expecting me to be in labour all night ( proved him wrong). Don't get all worried, everybody is different, you may have a really quick labour. Wish you all the best | | | | Status: Offline

| Firstly, Layla, I know about the risk of a section; I mean I have discussed this with my gyney, and although you're probably thinking "youre no different to the rest so why be treated differently", with the issues I have, they considered me to be "slightly" different to some first timers out there. What I have tried to say to the drs is, if there is def a RISK of needed a section, and induction could go on for 2 days+ resulting in the operation, then why not just give it to me anyway? I know it doesnt work that way for some, and honestly, Im not saying " I want this and I want that", but if they have given me an OPTION to have one but they advised against it because they know my stay in hospital could possibly cause issues, if theres a risk of staying in regardless, why not just get it over and done with? The gyney said its a 50/50 split, its my choice against hers and she really doesnt want to feel responsible for me because she's had bad experiences in the past, but it's not the fact that I feel im 'too posh to push', or I feel im too prude to bare all- it's the sheer fright of childbirth! U should have seen me on fri, I was at my wits end, and all they did was give me a V/E- Fair enough, I overcame that fear and let them do it, but knowing what to expect, and the pain it caused me on fri, (with no exageration cause it was fooking painful), I dunno if I can let them do it again. I agree fully, I sound selfish yes, maybe too selfish to be having a child but I CAN put my hand up to that and say "MAYBE it SOUNDS that I am putting myself first, yes I know its wrong, but I have had this fear all my life"- Im 'expecting' to be in hospital for a good 48 hours.. in thurs morn, MAYBE out fri night (and for me thats pushing it) but if my child is in danger of course I wont be taking him home, i'm not that heartless!!! I will say this though, and its goin to sound crazy I know, but aslong as baby is fine, I'm leaving- This is turning into another one of my formal letters lol. All I asked for was some info on induction.... Sorry girls. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I was induced with Jack at 37 weeks, If i remember rightly i went in about 8am had first pessary at around 10 then they left it for 4 hrs to see if it worked,i think i then had another and they broke my waters around 4is and i had him at 9.47pm, once my contractions had kicked in it was very quick.
This was Tuesday and i came home on Wednesday dinner time
With Em i went naturally at 37 weeks, contractions strtaed thurs tea time and i had her friday about 6pm i came home on the sunday
Every birth and baby is differant hun, you just have to go with the flow really |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I'm sure once your baby is born youll be pre-occupied and so focused on him that you will calm down about the anxiety..
eat lots of hot and spicy food.. try and have sex..and have one lite beer.. (the yeast in the beer will give you that last boost for your milk supply)
lol
Goodluck with him and let us know how you go!... | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | I was induced with Rebecca-went in on the Thursday night at 6 had 2 lots of gel (If I remember correctly) and all I can remember was after a couple of hours I had severe back pain! (Due to her being back to back and them not knowing)
I delivered her Friday morning at 10.15 after forceps delivery
The only thing I think I hated about being induced is there was no natural build up of contractions, it was one minute I was ok, then next it was the most horrific pain ever-sorry not meaning to scare u, but thats how it felt!
I want out after 6 hours this time as I hated every minute of my experience in hospital, I felt so alone and isolated.

All i was trying to do was make you aware that no one can say what will happen or how long you will have to stay in, so i was trying to make you see it from all angles to prepare you. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | It's up to you whether you turn up or not but if you do I think you should do everything possible to encourage labour to come on. when they give you the first pessary it might well be enough to get labour off to a good start then you might not need a 2nd lot. keep as active as possible - using one of those birthing balls and bounce up and down and side to side.
when they give you a pessary etc they wont want you to leave as they need to monitor how your body reacts with it and how the baby copes when the contractions start.
Every hospital has different policies, mine was that after your first you stay in for 2/3 days but I delivered at 7.21pm, on ward at midnight then I went home at 6pm the next day |

Thanks for the insight tho, and please dont take my reply as being ruuuuude. |
