HELP!!!Whats going on?

Ok, so I have just been sitting here on the puter (as you do) and I had a horrible HORRIBLE pain in my back which con-insides with some slight tightening in my tummy. It wasnt a REALLY bad tightening but when it happened, the pain in my back was NOT nice at all. Im going to sound soooooo thick now, but wtf is a contraction, and OMG it's happening again, epsecially when little one moves. I feel a slight tightening, followed by what seems to be movement and then horrendous back pain.
I dunno what Im meant to be looking out for, it's like, whenever drs ask ' you had any contractions', Im thinkin "how the HELL would I know"! lol.
I was told that when they come, I wont be able to mistake them, but I hear some women only get back labour, and thats before it all starts to kick in.
On L&D the other day, they told me if the pain was sharp enough in my tummy to make me gasp for breath, then its a definite contraction, but again, what about back labour? what if it doesnt start in my tummy?
I did have that horrible V/E yesterday, so could it be the after effects of that???
ooooooo, another one and ive got weird shooting pains down me leg too.
