Baby carriers worn in cars

I was just wondering just for safety issues, is it ok to wear a baby carrier with the baby, strapped in with the seatbelt in a car, I am just worried about my journey home in a taxi from Hospital when the baby has been born, as I can't afford to get a car seat as yet. anyone know

I wouldn't have thought it was safe, but I could be wrong. I know argos do cheap car seats and you can get one for £19.99 from Asda. I think thats a safer bet hun. I know its hard with money etc I am the same, but it's better to spend £20 and be safe xxx

No hun - baby needs a proper carseat. I don't think the hospital staff will actually let you leave if you haven't got one either...

nope im pretty sure the only way a baby is allowed to travel in a car is in a proper car seat. like someone else said there are cheap car seats on the market, or you could always ask a friend with a baby if you can borrow theirs of your sure it has not been in an accident and you know you will not be travelling anywhere in cars other times, if not i would get a car seat. the hospital are not allowed to let you leave without a car seat.

NO WAY!!! sorry hun but that is not safe at all. Baby needs to be in a car seat. Here you can not leave if you do not have one.

Is there someone you could borrow one from? And if you plan on going in any other taxi's with baby or anyone else's car you will need one.

Agree with the others, completely unsafe. And here at least you have to have a proper car seat before they will let you leave the hospital
