one-sided breast changes?!

Hi all,

I know this might be TMI, but Im a bit concerned that so far, my left breast is the only one doing all the changing, and the right one is still the same as it was pre-pregnancy apart from being a bit bigger!!

They both started growing and hurting like crazy early on, but then around week 6-8, the right one stopped growing, and the nipple didnt change at all. The left one has changed alot in shape and size since then, including the nipple which has elongated and grown larger. Im just wondering whats happening here and is this normal?!!

Is anyone else experiencing anything like this? Im worried what if the right one doesnt catch up, will i not be able to breastfeed from that side if its not 'ready'?!

Should I consult my mid-wife or obs? Im hoping to hear that this is normal and not a cause for worry!!

I would say it's normal hun and not to worry too much about it. You should still be able to breastfeed from both boobs, but i'd say if your conserned to speak to your MW. x

I think its quite normal for your breasts to be doing different things. I havent had hardly any pain with this pregnancy, and when I do its only on one side. The last 3 days though, I have had the worst nipple pain!! Only on one side, but it feels like a crab is hanging onto it! - Again, the other one is totally normal and pain free.. Weird, but normal I suppose!!

shelleylu, i totally know what u mean by saying u feel like a crab is hanging onto it!!! couldnt describe it better...
