Midwife still not been in touch....

Hi

is anyone else having the same problem? I'll be 17 weeks on Friday and my midwife still hasn't contacted me about my 16 week appointment. Should I wait it out a bit longer or contact her instead? Am I actually supposed to book this second appointment myself or should she be getting in touch with me? I hope she gets in touch soon because I'll be getting my secind scan in 3 flipping weeks!

Did you have a booking in appointment?? your next MW app is usually booked then - I would give them a ring if it was me.

Hi,

Other than for my 1st appt at 10wks ( booking in, for which I was referred by doctor to midwife) i have to contact midwife, and say ' I am nearly 16 wks, please could I book a date for my appt'

I have had to do the same for my 24 wk appt too, and assumed that this would be the case for all appointments. ( going off the schedule they gave me which shows who you should see and when)

So I would phone them, and just ask, if it is your responsibility as the patient to ring up to make appts for the appropiate times

OH MY GOD!! what the hell happened to the NHS? I've just checked that big green book they give you and right at the back, in tiny writing, she's wrote in HER notes 'make an appointment to see midwife 16-17 weeks at GP clinic'.

Hi, so far I have had my 12 week scan appointment, then booking in appointment with midwife at about 13 weeks which were both arranged by Hospital, had another appointment to take blood for downs tests which I booked after booking in appointmnet, got my 20 week scan in a few weeks which midwife did book for me and last time I was at the midwife she told me to make my 24 week appointment. I think if I was you I would chase midwife up just to find out what is going on and make sure they haven't missed you out. Doesn't do any harm to ask! Good luck
