I know, it is quite expensive, that's why I'm not sure. Thing is I will only get one class with the NHS and it just doesn't seem enough?? Especially as my husband is particularly clueless

Same, we're just sticking with NHS classes, even though we only get 3...their free and we just cant justify spending so much on NCT ones

We went to them and they were quite good. They have quite a 'touchy feely' approach to childbirth and bringing up children which can be quite nice to get a different side to the usual NHS one. We really quite enjoyed them but I probably didn't learn a huge amount. We did however meet some lovely people - we all stayed in contact through the pregnancy and birth etc (although I have now moved away so was a bit difficult to maintain the friendships) and it was lovely to have people in the same area to chat/meet up with etc who are often at roughly the same stage as you. I think 4 of the mums gave birth in the same week as me.

A colleague told me they were more intimate than the NHS one, which I can well imagine.

I think the meeting people is probably another thing that would really interest me - however we're probably moving back to France as soon as we can so not sure if that's even worth it. I guess it might be nice to know some other pregnant people too.

DH definitely needs some classes, thinking of sending him on one-to-one tuition

Ha ha! Great idea actually, and much more likely to convince him to watch it then him walking into a room somewhere.

I'm signed up for NCT classes. I've not been before, but my Mum was active in the NCT for a long time, and it seems to 'fit' with what I like, and how I'm going to be a Mum.

When are you likely to move? Making friends is a big part of it, usually the ladies stay in touch for a long time.

Also - you might not be able to now anyway! In my area, all the classes I could go to were fully booked by the time I was 14 weeks. Why not check, that might just make your mind up for you!

Hmm, well I've been phoning them and leaving messages and no one got back to me so maybe that's because they're booked?? I'll try again tomorrow.

We don't know exactly when we'll move, as soon as we can really but my baby has gastroschisis and we want to stay in the UK for it to be delivered - they have the most experience here. We're not sure how long it will be before the baby is out of hospital and ok to move, could be a few weeks or a few months.
