I did that all the time throughout my pregnancy! From what I read and was told your body will automatically change positions while you sleep if needed so I never really worried about it

I think its only a risk of trapping some nerve that can make you feel sick and lightheaded, if your not feeling like this I wouldnt think it would be dangerous

you my find that it will be to uncomfortable when you're bigger to sleep on your back and your body wont do it- thats what happened to me. By the the time I was about 28 weeks if I went on my back it would wake me up as the bump was just to heavy.

Its amazing how your body knows what its doing!!

I also heard that lying on your back puts pressure on your aorta and vena cava, so it restricts the blood flow to the baby.

My massage therapist told me this just yesterday.
I do the same thing.... Fall asleep on my left side and find myself on my back in the morning. One morning, my pillow was not under me and the pain I felt was horrible. I guess I was flat on my back too long, and the blood pressure was cut off. This morning, I woke up on my back, slightly slanted with my pillow semi-under one leg, putting me on a tilt and I experiened no pain.

Ask your doctor for sure. I know I am going to on Monday at my next prenatal checkup. If you cannot get in before then, I will post a message when I get back.
