scared of premature birth

hi girls.
im 23 weeks pregnant and am absolutely terrified of having premature baby again.my first one was born at 26 weeks almost 3 years ago for no apparent reason.well the docs said that it could have been an infection as something was showing up in my urine when i was in labour.its so sad as i cant enjoy being pregnant at all.im constantly afraid that something goes wrong again.

Hey hun! I know how you feel, i feel exactly the same, my little boy was born at 30 weeks due to bicornuate uterus, since then i have had part of my cervix removed due to abnormal cells, my cervix was very short at 16 weeks so i have had a stitch put in now but i worry constantly! Everynight i go to bed and plead with baby not to make an arrival that night!
My dr signed me off work last week for various reasons and i wont go back now till after baby, which is a relief as my job is very strenuous, i know i can rest as much as possible now.but i still constantly worry about when this baby will arrive!

I hope all goes well for you darling, hopefully the fact that they can't find a reason is a good dign that it was just one of those things

Hoping for a happy and healthy full term pregnancy for both of us good luck and take care x x x

Ive been worrying about this but since I havent had a later loss I didnt feel the right to post anything. I think we will never stop worrying I constantly worry about premature labour (I get quite alot of UTI's), cord around neck, something just chromosonally wrong with baby. I take it this is normal, I luv her so much that would hate for her to be taken away from me but at the same time I know I need to enjoy this pregnancy. I had a loss really early on.

Anyone know the stats of things going wrong? I worry about Incomptetent cervix, I had an easy first birth can this occur after birth etc?

Im glad this thread has been started maybe we can support each other through it. Is Vday 25 weeks?

Im just handing in a urine sample to docs every fortnight or so and when I have symptons xx

The vday is when you hit 24 weeks.im worried about UTI too.im gonna order some urine test kit.you can get one from ebay 100 strips for about £12.that way you can test your urine as often as you want.my doc told me that a labour with no or only few contractions is a sign of incompetent cervix.my first labour was very painful so i hope my cervix is fine.

ah thanks well I certainly had lots of contractions I meant more any damage with birth can it cause IC. You know you just see all the bad stories about premature labour and never good stories that it worries you. I hope cos everything went fine last time it will do this time too just so scary that there is no warning really

xx

Hi, ladies. Very scary, I know. Just wanted to say that a dear friend of mine went into labor and had her baby at 25 weeks back in December. It was terribly frightening, but their little girl is up past 4lbs now, and getting stronger and stronger. I pray none of us have to go through anything similar, but just wanted to share a positive story with you.
