Killer Heartburn - HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi all,
I just joined.
I need some advice. I'm 20 weeks gone and I have the worst heartburn I have ever had and it's lasted for three days. I used to get it occasionally before I was pregnant when I ate things like raw onion, cheese etc but I have been avoiding the usual triggers. It's got to the point where ANYTHING I eat gives me bad heartburn. I've been kept awake with really bad pains in my chest because of it. I've tried Gaviscon, Rennie, Milk of Magnesia etc but they aren't really helping and I've got to the point where I just don't want to eat anything. I'm really hungry!!!
Can anyone suggest anything that I can take or eat that may help? I'll try anything!
Thanks for your help
Flo

I have to drink milk and eat tums every night before I go to sleep. Also elevating your head when in the bed can help some. Unfortunately, there is not much we can do and I'm afraid it will get worse as LO grows.

Dont drink milk it may feel better going down but it actually stirs things up worse for later. The only thing you can do is change youre diet, dont drink when you eat and avoid eating at night. WHen you do eat make sure it is small meals. You can help relieve symotoms with tums and gav. But all in all its what you eat

Bleh, I've been there. Drink milk, but I've heard that liquid medicine is better than chewable. In any case, consult your doctor before taking any medicine.

Milk a myth? It helps me...

At the moment I'm loving gaviscon double action. Got to be the liquid stuff though, the tablets do nothing for me (except remegel chewable tablets, which I keep a packet of next to me at night!)
