These probably aren't true, but it's fun to believe!

1. Mix Drano with your urine: if it turns bluish yellow, brownish, brown, black or blue, you are having a boy. If it changes to greenish brown, green, blue or doesn't change at all, then congratulations - it's a girl! (WARNING: Doing this experiment can create some harsh fumes, and there is a possibility of an explosion!)

2. Cravings? Some scientists have proven that there is a direct correlation for wanting sweets to having a girl, and want salty/sour and having a boy!

3. Hold a pendant over your hand. If the necklace swings back and forth, you're having a boy. If it is more of a circular motion, then it's a girl. This can also be done by suspending a ring on a string above your belly.

Anyone have any more?

lol i love old wives tales!! apparently theres one where if your left boob is bigger then its a boy and the right is a girl!! if they're the same it could be one of each!! lol

and also if you get lots of spots its a girl and rosy skin its a boy

blats a load of rubbish! but still funny ... there is one about foot temperature but i cant remember it!

do any of these actually work?!?!

Nooo old wives tales are old wives tales and just superstition lol, sometimes coincidences happen but on the whole they are just things people used to believe before science intervened!

I think they're harmless though, taken with a pinch of salt, and great fun to speculate with!

Heartburn - if a pregnant woman frequently experiences heartburn, her baby will have a full head of hair.

This was true for me and my mum - my son and I were both born with a massive mop of hair!!

lol i heard that about heartburn, i had it so bad with my daughter and she didnt have much hair but its really caused by muscles softening due to hormones and allowing stomach acid to come bk up. (something like that lol) i love old wives tales. does anyone find that the wedding ring test always comes out the way they want it to? this is because of the motor neurons in ur fingers, if u want it to go one way then it will. u can make it go bk and forward too, we done about it at school. try it. we done it with a metal washer on a piece of string!
