So annoyed (rant)

Im so peed of with the horrible midwife i seen today, she was such a bitch to me!

Got up this morning and my hands were really swollen, didnt think much of it but spoke to my mum about 10am and she said she thought i should call gp as i have had this on and off for about a week plus had been geting blurred vision and white lights in front of my eyes like when u stand up 2 quickly and my mum had really bad pre-eclampsia with 3 out of 4 of her kids so thought i should get checked.

Anyway called and got sent to the gp surgery in the next town as my midwife isnt in until friday. Was left sitting for 2 hours to be seen even although i had an arranged app and when she finally seen me told me i shouldnt even be there as im not in there team! Cheeky witch! Told me my blood pressure was high but to keep an eye on it(dont know how im to do that) asked me if i have any epigastric pain, didnt know what that meant so asked and her reply was "never mind". She also told me i should go for an eye test as that was prob the reason for the vision problems!WTF! She was just a total cow for no reason.

I left feeling a bit worried but thought i have an app with my own midwife on friday so can speak to her about it. So on the bus on way home i open my notes to see what she has written and in she has put " 22wk app at own gp surgery 27Nov cancelled, as check up completed today" "swollen hands, observations satisfactory" "no epigastric pain"

Cant believe she cancelled my app and that she has written no pain when i clearly said that i didnt know what epigastric pain was!!!!! And did she hell do a check up, apart from my blood pressure she didnt touch me and asked me no other questions!!!!

Sorry for rant! Glad i can get it out of my system before OH comes in from work otherwise he would have got it

Bloody hell, that's disgusting!

If I were you, I'd get straight on the phone to your GP surgery and make sure that your appointment is NOT cancelled, and also book an emergency appointment with your own GP for now, or first thing tomorrow morning.

Just because you are pg, it does not mean that you always have to see a mw, you can see your gp if you are worried about anything.

Here you see your GP/OBGYN for most appointments.. I've heard some bad stories about midwives being in nasty moods lol so I'm glad I don't have to deal with them.. hardly anyone here has them unless they're having a homebirth and you still see a doctor anyway for prenatal care even if you have a midwife.

That's soooooooooooo bad! What a patronising cow bag who can'tg be arsed to do her job.

I'd be on the phone to my GP alright, but to ask about the complaints procedure. I know it might take some time writing a letter, but you've got to save others from this witch!

I'm a first timer, and this sort of treatment, even to me with no experience of midwife treatment/checks seems totally bloody negligent! I'm also an English teacher and have never heard of the word.

Good luck and you have EVERY right to rant and be furious!

I think the epigastric pain is pain just under your ribs. This is a sign of pre-eclampsia so thats possibly what it could be. Stupid cow, she was well out of order not explaining things to you! Definately make sure you still have your appointment on Friday. Just turn up and plead ignorance. Good luck hun x

Go back to your doctors.

You have all the warning signs for Pre-Eclampsia, high blood pressure, is called the silent killer for a reason the stupid cow bag.
If your Mum had it, then you are at risk of developing it as well. Did she not do a urine sample???

Epigastric pain is pain in ur tummy near your belly button.

If u cant see ur gp this wk, then go to ur local chemist n invest in a BP monitor.

Im appalled that she hasnt properly checked you over. If i was you i would call the local Maternity Unit and ask to be seen ASAP.

That is terrible, I would definately write a letter of complaint. In the style of 'big-ing up' your usual midwives and then saying how disappointed you were with this one.

I would also make damn sure that my next appointment was not cancelled. What a cheeky witch!!!!

i would make an appt for the doctor or midwife for tomorrow as signs of pre eclampsia can not be missed!!! i had pre eclampsia which then turned into eclampsia with my son as the midwife ignored all signs of pre eclampsia so i ended up in intensive care!! its not worth the risk hun go and get it checked out ASAP!!! xxx
