I told my work pretty early on as we are fairly close.

Do you have any colleagues you get on with really well? You could bring it up with them, then once they know thats the easy bit. You probably wont need to tell everyone as you know what workplaces are like with gossip lol

I told mine early on hun, like the first tri. I would have preferred to wait until the 2nd but I was getting ms a lot and I had to explain to my boss so that he won't think I'm just slacking off on certain days. He was very supportive and understanding about the whole thing. I then told a few trusted colleagues in the office cause.. well, I just wanted to share the good news All I said was, "hey guess what? I'm pregnant!" just like that LOL I told them not to tell anyone else until the 2nd. By the 2nd tri, I popped so there was no hiding it anyway and everyone pretty much started asking me about it.

Good luck with your sharing the news at the office! hope it's a good experience!

I told my boss at 15 weeks and submitted the official notification just after my scan. I unfortunately work in a male dominated profession and my company is filled with the typical "old boys" club so I had to do everything by the book as they understand but not fully.

Good Luck telling work. I would do it soon though.

I told work as soon as i found out i was pregnant... I had it all confirmed of course. But luckily for me i am close to the girls that i work with so that was lucky.... They have been great about it all and are very happy, excited and supportive.

Hi HannahGraceee - I think you need to tell your work soon if you want to get Mat pay etc from them. Not sure how it works with you working in a charity shop though.

I told my manager the week after H and I got our BFP. The only reason I told them so soon was because I had just transferred depts within the same company I had been working in for 6 yrs and there was talk of not replacing my colleague who had just left. If I had been at my old job I would have waited until my 12 week scan. I did wait to tell everyone else at work until then, but my manager knew at 5 weeks or thereabout.

I just went into her office and said can I have a wee chat? She took one look at my face and knew it was a now chat lol. Luckily for me she was happy, I was really nervous about telling her.

HTH.

Cx
