question about 20 week scan

First, I had mine, 2 weeks ago. But I was wondering. For the first scan I had, I faced away from the screen, and couldnt see what the sonographer was doing.

At the 22 week scan, I was facing the screen so I could see the baby & what the sonographer was doing all the way through.

I just wanted to know (out of interest) if you faced the screen or not?

I cant say about my 20 week scan as i havnt had that yet, but i know for the first minute of so she had the screen away from me and then i asked to see it so she turned it round abit.

I was told this is just to firstly check that baby is ok before you see the screen, just incase something bad has happened before 12 weeks etc.

They had another tv screen set up right in front of us and we both (DH and I) did not take our eyes off the screen. I wanted to see everything I could. Even though 3/4 I had no idea what he was looking at lol

that's what the 12 week scan was like, but for the 22 I was pointing in the other direction so I saw all the measurements being taken. I actually found it a bit scary!

I've had 3 NHS scans the first one i cud only see the tv screen and not what she's doing as she's beind me to my right when i'm lying on bed and the tv screen i watch is to my left. The first scan my OH was dead in front of me so he cud watch both tv screen and hers and then on the next one he was told to move and sit in a seat between me and the tv screen i watch so he cudnt see what the sonographer was doing, it was the same for the 20 week scan its cos they pause the screen they are looking at to look in detail at heart or something and keep ours playing so we dont know thats what the flashes are like pictures taking its her pausing her screen but we don't know this. We probably can't see this cos there's not much point if we saw her looking we might start thinking she's taking a long time looking at that, or oh does that look like its supposed to etc etc so they just keep the one we're looking at playing so we can see bub moving around. Hope that helps, don't worry. xxx

It was definitely her screen I could see with the measurements coming up. I just wondered if that was normal It's of no real consequence, i guess
