Sciatica ???

For about two weeks I've had this awful pain in my right butt, right at the top like near the bone.

I thought it was just a bad back but i've told a few people and they mentioned it might be the sciatic nerve?

How can you tell? I've had a look on the net and I'm not getting pains down my legs just in this one spot!!

I've got a doc's appoitment tomorrow for some bloods so i will ask then..

Is anyone else getting this? x

Yes! Im getting it too, posted a thread a few days ago.
Mines also on my right side, like lower back/top of bum.
Theres no cure or medication for it if it is sciatica, Just to rest and not over do it on exercise, Iv noticed the days I don't do any exercise that it isnt too painfull or feel like my bums guna come out of place.
Not too sure if the Docs can actually do anything, My stepdad has sufferd from it most of his life and never been prescribed anything
Xxx

I had this exact pain a few weeks ago but on my left side (butt) it has developed further now esp if I lift my left leg my side is also sore. Last few days my bump has really started to develop and feels like its putting pressure on my pelvis/pubic region esp when walking feels like my body is ripping apart if you know what I mean.

GP referred me to physio so have an early preg class on monday for general ways to get out of bed sit etc to help.

I have my 16 week midwife app today before work so she'll prob know more about it have heard stories of pelvis stretching and creating a gap between hip and pelvis? but if you both are only feeling it in your right butt area hopefully it is aches and growing pains and not sciatica or anything more troubling . Will keep you up to date

you all have my upmost sympathies. I had it with my first baby and it was awful! Getting an exercise ball and just sitting on that and bouncing on it really really helped. DS was lay on my back which didn't help! I also got a maternity pillow - brilliant for getting into right position at night!!

Sounds like Sciatica!
I had it BAD one Saturday, I was in AGONY. It was in the same place you describe. Only a few things settled it. Sitting absolutely upright, as in a hard pillow behind me and making sure I didn't sit OR lay for long periods. One morning it was painful I rolled onto my back and screamed! It happened end of week 13 early week 14 and my midwife said it was because I was producing relaxin which relaxes the ligaments and therefore gave me back ache somehow!
