Not bump related - but I'm crushed

This isn't related to anything, but I don't really have anyone to talk to about it. It's an awful story - just to warn you. I've been crying all day. I walked for 6 km in the rain and broke a couple things and all it did was make me sad, angry and wet.

Some $#!$^&*%^ $%@#%&* %^!@$ shot my best friend's dog when they were working out in the bush this week. Apparently, the %@#hole thought it was a wolf - even though she was wearing a collar. It was some ******** hunter that should never have been given a gun to point at anything but his own head. I'm totally crushed. I feel deflated. This week was going so well, then all the sudden I get this news. I fed Chinook parts of my breakfast every day for two months until she would finally come up to me on her own and I was the only one she would approach. I lived with him and his dogs for another 6 months and we all worked together. She got so comfortable with me that she would curl up with me when I was reading. We had the air conditioning on all winter to keep the dogs comfortable inside with their winter coats. I consider her my dog, too, and he saw her and her sister as his children (he's a dedicated bachelor).

To him, he's lost a daughter. He and Yukon (the sister dog) are 1500 km from here and I can't do a thing to comfort him or help in some way. This is the stupidest, most pointless kind of death. Having worked out there, and having heard bullets wizz past my head in the hieght of hunting season - and being a hunter myself - I KNOW there is no excuse for this. It's just the end result of a total moron. I hope he never crosses my path.

I'm sorry to unload this on all of you, but I needed to get it out somehow - before I break every dish in the cupboard.

RIP Chinook, I'll miss you.

Police don't get involved up there. Stuff like that "happens".. It's a different world than around the city. Ugh, sorry - I'm just so angry. Likely Thomas kicked him silly, but I haven't had a chance to talk to him yet.

She was a german shepard/husky/lab mix...

ahhh that is terrible. I can not believe people can just shoot at things like that no matter a dog or deer or fox or whatever. It's just mean and I am so sorry that happened to your friends dog.

I'm so sorry dear - it's hard to lose a loved one, especially so needlessly. Hugs to you...

I am so very sorry hun - what a horrible thing, to lose a loved one. Dogs are so much more than pets, they are part of our families.
