I'm Currently Feeling: | I've gone and worried myself now! Ok, so the other night I didn't sleep because I was experiencing a real tightening of my tummy - didn't last for long, but was enough to worry me to tears and hubby ended up calling my mum (who's a midwife) to ask what it was. Anyway, the general concensus was that I was probably experiencing Braxton Hicks nad that as long as there was no bleeding or pain, I was ok.
So me being the worry-wort that I am, wandered off into the premature baby forum on here and started reading about the signs and symptoms of premature labour. Now I've gone and worried myself, as my tummy does still get a bit tight now and then. I don't know whether I'm worrying without reason or if I should call the midwife and ask about it. If it is Braxton Hicks, is this gonna go on for the rest of the pregnancy? It will drive me nutty if it does! I've had words with God and LO and told LO to make sure she stays put til february. |

good job u have your mum at hand to offer help and advice. I couldn't tell you if BH stop but i do know of someone who got them from 28 weeks and had them until she gave birth, she also went over due. So whilst that doesn't sound extremely pleasent it also doesn't mean that you'll necessarily go into labour. Hope your LO stays put! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I got BH's at 20 weeks and still get them every day now. at the last weeks they were quite strong then i got real contractions and there is no mistaking them. So i dont think you have anything to worry about. Unless you have pain and bleeding with them. But if your worried give your midwife a call or wait till your next appointment to discuss but im almost sure you dont have anything to worry about. Some woman just feel them more than others xxXxx |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Thanks ladies. I just tried calling my mum but she's with a patient and there's no answer at the midwife clinic - I left a message but they only check the messages between 8 and 9:30am |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I'm sure between your mum and your midwife they'll put your mind at rest. Sounds normal, but i think you just need to hear those words officially to put your mind at rest. x |
