Ok..so I know I look younger than I am! I use to get ID'ed all the time..trying to buy wine..buying lottery tickets before I stopped because well I was pregnant! hehe. I get asked all the time how old are you..and get the same like omg really reaction. Im sort of use to it...


But this is getting annoying. Ive had several people make nasty remarks 'behind my back' about me being a teenage mother! One lady overheard my husband and I talking on the bus about the baby coming and she said to her friend (of course loud enough for me to hear) "Another baby having a baby..just what we need!" I snapped back at her.."Im almost 30 years old!! And its none of your buisness!!"

Two days ago in the deli, I was talking to this actually friendly lady..about how far along I was. And there was a lady behind me clearly listening. Because just as I was about to leave I heard her say to the woman I was talking too "If my teenage daughter was knocked up.." I couldnt make out the rest.

Then today in the maternity shop..the counter lady was a total hag to me. I bought a pair of jeans in there and she wouldn't even make eye contact with me..she was like "these are for you?", "oh when are you due?", "your parents must be SO proud?" in this horribly rude tone..then she asked me these questions about my postal code, phone number..and then wrapped up my stuff..and handed it to me. I was about to leave when she says "sorry how old are you anyways?" Im like "29!" and she was like "oh sorry" clearly she assumed otherwise! Why else say sorry?!

I dont get it...do I have a sticker on my forehead that says talk down about me?! I think I need a shirt that says 'Married. Almost 30! Pregnant with our first!"

Rant over. Sorry.

PS I know it's a good thing in the end..looking younger. But I guess it bugs me because I dont want to deal with the glares and crap when the baby comes! And having to defend myself..SUCKS!

If you were a teenager it's wouldn't justify their rudeness!

Totally agree with elm there, even if you where a teen they wouldnt have the right to speak to you like that. I do look my age now but when i lost a load of weight I was asked 3 years ago for idea and I was like 23 at that point (you must be over 18 in uk for alchol) so i was shocked then. It felt like a complement actually. But I say that would bet bloody annoying with judgemental people around.

well look at it this way when you are 40 you will look 20 ! I will on the other hand probably look 50 by then lol

Ah well. Heres to hoping that they stick to giving me the glares..and get it out of their systems..so they wont do it to actual teenage moms. People really suck sometimes. I wonder if I just happen to catch people on their off days?!

I know I sound like a complaining whiner but it's just gotten a little too much! I thought the wedding ring would be hint enough for everyone!

Peoples ignorance makes me boil , Regardless of age peoples opinions should stay just that , There opinions not rude gossip .
You never have to explain to any one hun .On a similar note iam 24 and on baby number 3 and cannot buy a lottery ticket without my driving licence with me , Have had many rude stares ... And even when i passed my test people where straing at me driving my car (I have a big car lol) like i was an insolant teenager ! .
Just think hun when were 60 we will look 30 and fresh lol . xxxxxx .
