I've gained (so far) in my pregnancy 28 pounds! Good. Freaking. Grief.

Excuse me while I go and hide in a corner crying, ha ha ha! I know I'm supposed to gain weight, but maaaaan... being a certain size for so long it's really hard to wrap my mind around!
pregnancy has helped me embrace my pre-pregnancy body! Even if according to the charts I was still "obese". Which I am pretty sure I am not....I have seen obese people....

At my last doctor's appointment I was 22 weeks. They weighed me and I was shocked to see I'd gained nearly 15lbs. I made it a point to ask both the nurse and then the OB if that was okay, and they said it's just fine. Some women put on more weight in second tri than in third - the nurse told me I may actually lose weight in the last month or two even though the baby will gain. Her last words to me were "it may just be your body's time to put the weight on so eat, drink and be merry - you're pregnant!"

Hi girlies,

Just poppin' in, I love to read these threads 'cause I'm a bit paranoid about weight gain (I REALLY am not like that usually, but my mum was slim like me, had me and never looked back... So yeah...) - you are all so positive and level-headed about it all, its SO refreshing! Here in Switzerland you get looked at for even having a SHAPE, pregnant or not, I promise you!

According to that neat-o calculator thing, I should gain 15kg... That sounds ok to me! At my last apmt I hadn't gained anything yet, and its saying I should be about 55-56kg at my next one in 2 weeks... We shall see!
