Girls, I'm miserable! The last week or so I've started to have really bad gastric reflux issues. I've cut frozen yogurt and spicy stuff from my diet already, and now I seem to find a new offender every day. I stupidly tried to have a few potato chips tonight while we watched a movie, and now my stomach is just heaving.
LO tends to wake up and dance this time of night (it's 12:30am here) and that's likely not helping things. I keep burping and tasting food (sorry if that's TMI), it's not painful like many people's heartburn, but it is very uncomfortable and I feel like I'm going to throw up. I want to go to bed, but can't lie down right now -- this is really frustrating! I bought some Tums, they don't seem to be doing much right now, but it's probably better than nothing.
Any thoughts, ideas, or hints? I know this is all normal during second & third tri, but I'd really like to minimize it if possible!

i have suffered this before pregnancy quite badly (it was chillis that did it!) and I've already had a couple of bouts. I generally find it happens when I eat too much at one go, so smaller meals more often helps. I also tend to take my calcium supplement that soothes it a bit, if it gets worse Iwill go to the doctor and get some gaviscon though.
And pay attention to the posture. I have no idea if that really helps but it seems to me slouching and eating is bound to squish your stomach and help force acid up, so I try and create some room by sitting up

I suffer loads with it and have in all my pregnancies. I usually end up taking Ranitidine for it as it gets unbareable. I start on Gaviscon Advance and end up on Ranitidine about 26-28 weeks.
Mine is usually worse when my stomach is empty, like during the night. Ask your Dr for advice hun xxx

i had bad bad heartburn about a month ago but thankfully it only lasted a few weeks, i went and got some gaviscon from the doctors but tbh it tasted rank and made me feel sicker haha
i was told to cut out coffee (decaf) and fruit and to take the gaviscon when i needed it
when i got home though i looked on the internet and too much gaviscon can actually give u worse heartburn cos ur body overcompensates on making the stomach acid or something so i stopped taking it and just had a glass of milk instead
hope u find a way to get rid of it soon cos it really sucks

I've had terrible heartburn, but have found that the liquid Gaviscon is really good and got it free on prescription.

I had it too last pregnancy, it's awful isn't it?
I has something on prescription from the docs. I can't remember what it was called, but it was tablets that you chewed and tasted like butterscotch! Not nasty like Gaviscon. I'll ask if she can check my records at my next mw appointment.
