I'm Currently Feeling: | I look like an old hag! I've got really dark hair, but have loads of horrible grays coming through because i was waiting to get past 12 weeks to get it dyed. (although i did do one of those root touch up jobs from Boots that doesn't touch your scalp)
I've done lots of searching for research on whether it's harmful or not and the opinion seems to be its best avoided before 12 weeks but that no research shows what they use would harm your baby.
Ive booked a hair appointment for tomorrow morning to cheer myself up but am now worrying about it again. Anyone else had / having their hair dyed? Am i worrying too much about nothing?
obviously my hair colour is a VERY serious subject matter.... i won't even begin on my need for a wax.... |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I think they say to stay away from Blonde hair dyes, if i remember correctly, as there are higher levels of whatever it is that is harmfull in blonde dyes (that was so non specific i do apologise! )
Regarding the waxing though...i had a facial and massage yesterday in a Spa which has specialist treatments for pregnant women called Mamma Mio, i happened to enquire about waxing in general and waxing in a certain area and they say that the skin may feel a lil more sensitive than normal but it is A Ok to be waxed during pregnancy xx |

I'm Currently Feeling: | i just had mine done last week... mind you, i had highlights and what not, so it was foils, nothing actually touching my scalp..
but everywhere i've read basically said these days, it's fairly safe.
one thing i was told to be careful about was that my pigments may have changed and the dye may not take as well! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I dye mine all the time, my doc said the only thing that can harm the baby is the fumes so make sure you do it in a ventilated area & you'll be fine.

I'm Currently Feeling: | I have my hair dyed (brunette) every 6-8 weeks. Had it done when the baby was about 2 weeks old and I didn't even know I was pregnant, and then again when it was 10 weeks old because I didn't realise you shouldn't have it done. Oops. My next appt is in 2 weeks by which time the baby will be 18 weeks so I figure it's now ok. From what I gather hair dyes are much safer than they used to be and the advice I read was geared towards home dyes - ie use gloves and make sure the room you are in is well-ventilated. At least when I'm at the salon it's not me actually mixing the dye and applying it, so perhaps that cuts out some of the risks, or am I clutching at straws here?! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I had dark hair with my first baby and had it dyed throughout pregnancy and she is as right as rain.
I'm due to get my hair highlighted next week and can't wait. I've never had roots like this before. It's taken me weeks to get booked in with my hairdresser, I'm hoping it'll cheer me up. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I am blonde and have dyed mine 3 times since being pregnant. The MW said it's not harmful, but hormones can change the colour!!!! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Ye i agree with Emsi76 it shouldn't be fine, when i dyed my hair a month ago with a home dye dark kit it wasnt as vibrant and was quite a bit duller, amazing isn't it how different our bodies are. x |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I have waxing done all the time, bikini and eyebrows, plucking is far to painful now!!
I also only 2weeks ago had a full head of foils (a mix of Browns and Blondes) and that made me feel so much better! I consulted both GP/MW and Hairbresser and they all said that foils are safe as no direct contact to your head!!
Totally understand how your feeling, i have some days where i feel horrible!! And working in a big london law firm really doesnt help! If you get time, go in a department store with NO Make up on, and have a make over done!! Then get OH to meet you after, you will feel Fan-tab-ulas
