Scared to please family on gender....

Ive got 3 weeks till my gender scan however I am really scared of the outcome. See I have soooo much pressure from my MIL to produce a girl cos that side of the family is all boys - no girls for quite some generations. Where as my side is 50/50. I know deep down OH wants a girl too and keeps saying 'when shes here' and stuff like that.

Im just scared to get in there and they say 'your having a little boy!' and then I will have let them down and OH will be disappointed. Ive raised concerns with him in a round-about way and he says dont be silly... but its hard. Personally I dont mind which I have, I would like 1 of each eventually - doesnt matter which order.

Just want to please them ... but I know its out of my hands...

Sorry you have to deal with all that hun, but if your family have any sense, they'll know that you have no control over what comes out! What do they expect you to do if it's a boy? Trade him in?

Is it a cultural thing or do the in-laws just REALLY want a girl?

My hubby wanted a boy at first so i set about convincing ( and convincing myself) that were havin a girl. So now he calls cashew 'she'. If it does turn out to be a boy then what a lovely suprise for him, if its a girl then fantastic but we already thought it would be.
Thats how i got around the pressure of him wanting a boy,by just telling him it will be a girl, he knows no different to girl now. not really much help but i thought i would share how i got round that. Even inlaws call cashew 'she' lol

At the end of the day once your baby is here you will love it no matter what it is. Girl or boy as long as he/she is healthy what does it matter?
