Why is it that IL have to be that way??

So odd! I'm so glad my IL don't live here right now.. Cus in their part of the world girls are not as highly valued. Even tho they tell us it does not matter in the end, they kept *poking* with these lil remarks about how they would buy us a car IF it was a boy, with a hard laugh after and a 'just kidding' after as I was NOT laughing... We already found out it is most likely a girl (which I wanted anyway ) So I don't CARE what they want.. Me and the hubby would love a girl! My hubs brother had a boy on third attempt. For them it was really impo apparently! Now they live in a tiny apartment in a big city, struggling with three small kids... (NOT going to bee me!) So glad we have a big house in the countryside!

Anyway, good luck! Crossing my fingers for a healthy baby for you! Hope you wont stress too much, not good for baby you know!

That must be hard. As its the first Grandchild on both sides, so far everyone just wants it to be healthy.

im very lucky to have lovely in-laws, my OH would slightly prefer a boy so iv convinced him i think its a girl to get him used to it. his parents i think would like a girl because they had 2 boys and 1 grandson, throw a girl in to boss them all around

my mum is to excited to even think about the fact it will be a boy or a girl lol

dont worry yourself, your partner and yourself are the only ones to please, this is YOUR family so try to enjoy the experience, willy or not xxx

they will get over it regardless. i wont lie, oh and i both wanted a boy for our first, but i was so happy when i found out alexa was a girl. i cant even imagine how life would be if she had been a boy, alexa is so precious to me i cant imagine having a son. her great grandfather had said he wanted generation pics done when i was pregnant, if i had a boy, but having had a girl, he doesnt even pay attention to her! oh well, his loss!

i was in exactly the same situation so know how you feel. the pressure takes the edge off your excitement sometimes. my OH always dreamed of a little girl and she will be the first in her generation on both sides so i feel really lucky. that said he had two boys with his previous partner and he and his family worship them so its not worth letting it spoil things because the end result is the same no matter what happens.

fingers crossed for ya though

I know EXACTLY what you feel like!!!

My family actually has more girls then boys, and my OH's family is mostly male. MIL wanted a girl, and "coincidentally", my sister in law (OH's side) got pregnant 7 weeks after me. For 5 months, I had to deal with MIL saying I was having a boy, but SIL was having a girl, and it was especially hard once i had my scan, and it was confirmed I was having a boy. Then for the next 7 weeks until her scan was more nonsense.
Anyways, to make a long complicated story short, WE BOTH HAD BOYS! And everyone was still thrilled, even though they wanted a girl.

For me, I didn't care, I just wanted one of each as well. I'm just happy my little boy is happy and healthy
