Moses basket??

Ok,so just got back from OHs parents, and they gave us a moses basket.its second hand, but just like new...only thing is... It doesn't look very cosy at all! looks all narrow & baskety!! I think my pg hormones are making me worry about stupid things anyway, but i'm suddenly worrying and telling myself that i'll HAVE to use it... I just want to buy a nice cosy cot and for baby to sleep in that from the start, rather than start in a moses basket&then get moved to a cot... Aaah i dont know!!!

if u dont want ur baby to go straight into a cot, do that
its your baby so upto you what you do

oh and if u feel bad, u could just say the baby wouldnt settle in it hehe

I've said I'd prefer to just put my baby in a cot from day one, rather than using the moses basket (we have one - just prefer to use cot instead)...

I've got em both set up ready anyway cuz you never know how things will change when you actually bring the baby home.

someone gave me a moses basket and i wanted one with padded sides lol, so i stacked boxes on by accident of course lol (wink) and it got squashed and couldnt be used.
i was going to put my daughter straight in the cot but she looked so tiny i put her back in the moses, also i couldnt be arsed walking across the landing to get up cos cot wont fit in my bedroom, easier to fling my legs out the bed, feed, wind, and change her put her back in the moses without standing up lol, hardly woke up that way..

Moses baskets are handy for downstairs I think for a kip in the day but I've always put mine in a crib or cot upstairs

Just pull it out once in awhile when they're there and do what you want the rest of the time. And yes, just say baby didn't take to it.
No one can get offended at a baby!

I was the same, my Oh's parents wanted to give us all their second hand..wait make that 4th hand stuff and kept going on about having to get up in the attic at some point to get it all down for us, so i ended up rushing out and putting everything OH and i had picked out on a nursery plan before they got the chance hehe >.< i really dont like the thought of my new born baby, my FIRST baby having stuff that belonged to someone else and has been in an attic for the past 19 years, just explain to them you appreciate it but as its your first baby and could also be the only baby you have you would like to buy new stuff for it.

im buying both a moses basket and a cot and plan on using the moses basket for the first few weeks, what i like about the moses baskets is that you can carry them around the house so when im down stairs the baby comes with me!!

Yeh im using a basket for a few months as its easy to move around and also not so scary for a newborn as a huge cot!
