I'm not bothering with a moses basket this time. We live in a bungalow now so we got a crib and will have it in our room.

i have used a moses basket for all of mine so far and wouldnt be without, you can get padded liners if you want to make it more cosy.
I wont leave a newborn upstairs alone in its cot so the moses basket is in the lounge.

I was going to suggest that. Moses baskets are quite useful for having baby in the same room as you. Also you can always use it when you go to thier house for baby to snooze in and stickwith the cot at home.

I had the same thing as Luhweez but I had to insist that the dowling rod they'd used to fix the cot just wasn't safe enough for my baby! In-laws eh?

Well, thanks to all your posts, i think i've now come round to the idea!today i found some beautiful ribbon which i've woven into the handles to jazz it up abit it looks quite nice now... Think my stupid hormones were making me think irrationally& not realise that it was kind of them to give it to us. Happy ending on this occasion...
