Tightening across the uterus...

About 3 or 4 times today I felt my uterus tighten up then baby move a little and when i go to feel down there it is hard as a rock (it feels tight as well)! Not really sure what's going on though? Googled it a bit to see if it was braxton hicks or something...but not knowing what those feel like exactly, it's tought to diagnose myself. So what do you all think? Was it just a couple Braxton Hicks? Nothing to worry about, i'm sure? Baby seems to be well in there! I hope!

I don't like them either! I was getting them a lot this evening and maybe a couple times earlier in the day! Not sure what causes them? They just happen i suppose?

I keep thinking maybe it's the orange soda i had earlier...or the cherry pie...or icecream...my diet has not been the best lately!!!

They can be caused by dehydration and overdoing it... So maybe try drinking more water babe?

I knew it! oh god! I definitely haven't been drinking much lately, i feel awful now that i may be dehydrating poor Baby Girl! I have always been a light drinker, especially when it comes to water...and lately i've had maybe one...one and a half glasses of water a day. UGH. I feel awful!

Don't be sad hunny it's easy to up your water in take...try to drink a small glass every hour, every bit of water is better then none And sometimes you can't do anything to prevent BH's!!!

i was going to ask about this today too!!! i have been getting them this last week they do feel odd and kind of take my breath away almost just for a few seconds?! very strange!

yep as Carley has said keep hydrated, if you have been doing too much they can come on and if your bladder is full you can notice them too xxx

meant to be a good sign though that your uterus is starting to prepare for labour - doesn't mean it will happen soon tho!

i read that you get them from 6 weeks but dont notice them!

xxxxxx

Don't worry - the only time I get BH's is when I'm sitting down or lying down resting and I never overdo or get dehydrated - I drink around 2 litres of water a day! BH's are just one of those pregnancy things - don't worry about them...and Baby Girl won't get dehydrated - she'll take all your water and then you're the one who'll get dehydrated!! Babies are more resilient than you might think!
