I think they are creepy and neat at the same time. I'm pretty sure it's my birthday present from my MIL!!! So I'm cool with it... I agree that it's something special you can show them when they are older.

I'm undecided about this, part of me isn't keen and much prefers the 2d version, whilst sometimes I think i really don't want to miss out and regret not getting it done later.

Dh thinks they are freaky and isn't keen.

They are totally creepy!
As you can see from my avatar, it looks like I'm going to give birth to Gollum from Lord of the Rings.
Kazzap thought hers looked like Mr. Burns from the Simpsons.
I thought we were getting the 2D scans on our ultrasound disc, but the tech put all these little dvd clips of the baby in 4D instead. My husband thinks they are horrible, as does my brother.
I am fascinated by them, even though I think the babies are pretty ghoulish at this stage. Sort of like the incredibly ugly cuteness of some baby birds before they get down or feathers?

I would only have one if there had been any mention of disformaties or what my brother has, which is a cleft lip and palate.

I wouldn't want a surprise at birth and woul rather have a look prior to that point!

Otherwise, don't see the need!!!

hmm i didn't actually realise they can pick that up. I think that'll be the reason i have one- for the reason you've stated too.

my OH's bro has a cleft palate, and his mum suggested we have a 3d scan, just so we can rule it out, i want a 3d scan anyway, so its just an added bonus! x
