Reduced Movements

At what point do you start to worry? LO usually moves more often than not, but I've only felt her kick once since I woke up this morning. I've tried a warm bath which usually gets her going, and different foods. There's nothing else wrong, no cramps or anything like that.

I've had the odd time like that and then suddenly, just as I am about to go insane, LO will have a big wriggling and kicking marathon - it's usually because of the position they are in, but I would call a doc/mw if you are worried as it won't hurt. You can also try gently palpating your own belly to see if you can figure out where she is curling up - if the front feels quite soft then likely she has curled up towards the back.

I did think that the most likely thing was that she's turned around, or the placenta is in the way as she's always been very active so it doesn't make sense to suddenly go so quiet. Bump feels the same as always. It's been about 7 hours now and only one slight movement, not even a proper kick.

Going to try a cup of tea and a listen with the doppler just now.

It could just be having a rest period, when my lo was having a lazy day, the midwife said if you don't feel him/her kick at least 10 times over 2 days, then i'd phone.

If you're worried, phone the midwife, that's what she's there for

Thanks girls. She sounds fine on the doppler (150bpm) so I'm going for the wait and see approach.

Yep....as soon as you phone the hospital and they say "come down and we'll check it out" baby kicks for England...or sometimes they wait till you get on the ctg machine

yerp thats what aidan did lol he he

but try not to worry hun aidan has been so quite as well and i went to hospital and they did a quick scan and it turns out his head wad down and engaged and his feet were against the placenta so the placenta was absorbing his kicks. and that heart beat sounds lovely so she will be fine

xx

Try a glass of Ice cold water....

I had a little boy who was stillborn in January, and so whenever this LO goes quiet it really makes me panic, so I force her into moving by downing Iced water - never fails to wake her up!

xx
