Heartburn

Ive had this really bad burning feeling from the top of my throat, through my chest and down to my stomach the past couple of days. But I have been awake since 6am this morning with it today because it has gotten so bad. My Mum said it is heartburn. So Ive looked up symptoms as Ive never had it before and Im pretty sure it is. I know its common in pregnancy. Ive read it is safe to take Gaviscon in pregnancy and that mints also can help. So OH's Mum has gone out to get both for me.
Its so painful Im going to a wedding 2moro in Manchester too! Hope it doesnt spoil it.
Has anyone else had it and what did u find helped if you have?
Thanks in advance xxxx

Hi Hun, Yeah its heartburn, and im afraid to say it gets a hell of alot worse. The bigger baba gets. Im drinking gaviscon like theres no tomorrow!! All you can do is take gaviscon and rennies and hope they help. Also you will become aware of what food gives you worse heartburn. Also try eating little and often. Sometimes eating big meals can make it worse.

Hope the gaviscon eases it XxX

Milk Milk Milk!!

Honestly it works wonders! I also found Rennie tablets were good aswell!!

My heartburn was awful aswell. Keeping me up at night. I found that sleeping on my back made it worse so either sleep on your side or prop your head up with loads of pillows!!

Sounds like heartburn to me. I'd never had it before until I was pregnant and now it seems to be my new best friend.

I take Rennie for mine and they seem to do the trick. I prefer the fruit ones and have a packet everywhere around the house and never leave the house without them. x

I've got it really bad. Milk and mints make mine worse, my midwife said that dairy does make it worse. Gaviscon is the best. You can get it on prescription because it gets a bit expensive when you end up guzzling it like I am.

I was told by the pharmacist not to take rennies, they're not recommended for taking in pregnancy, this was news to me. I had loads of them in my first pregnancy.

You can get gaviscon tablets, which might be a bit more discreet for the wedding. Hope it goes well xxxx

They are gross, but my pharmacist wouldn't let me have rennies so I had to have the gaviscon ones. It's easier to take when you're out and about, It's hard to swig a massive bottle of gaviscon without getting strange looks!
