UTI's

Ok so I know that during pregnancy I'll be needing to pee more than usual but I think I might have a UTI. I haven't got any pain and I can't even say that there's any discomfort but it just doesn't feel right. I have to go a few times an hour and a lot of the time I don't think I'm passing that much. It feels like there's a bit of pressure down there too.
I've got a doctors appointment tomorrow but just wanted to see if anyone else has a had a UTI without having any pain or any other obvious symptoms.

when i had a UTI some weeks ago, i had no symptoms but i DID have to 'go' quite often, just as you are describing. the worst was t night, at you going at night at all? like is the urge to go waking you up? i remember going 6 times in one night!

do get it checked, it is better safe than sorry. good luck!

Yeah I do find it is worst at night, at first I thought it was just down to my fluid intake so I tried drinking less in the evenings. When that didn't help at all that's when I started thinking that it may be an infection. Should hopefully get it all sorted tomorrow!

How far gone are you? It's quite likely that LO is squashing your bladder. That can make things feel weird and need to go too often. But it's only a few minutes to take a sample to a doctor and get dip-sticked so I would do that to be sure.

I had a test for UTIs last week after I felt some stomach tightening. My doc suggested I should get the test done to rule it out. My results were negative though. But my doc said during pregnancy UTIs can appear without the usual signs.

Went to my appointment with the doctor and it turns out that I do have an infection. Got a prescription for antibiotics which should fix things but she did tell me that she'd send my sample off to the lab in case I need different antibiotics to clear up the infection. Phew, while it's sucky to have an infection I am relieved to know that I wasn't just imagining things.

When you are pregnant you NEED to drink as much water as you can. We've had a couple pregnant girls already have to to spend nights in the hospitals because of dehydration. As your pregnancy progresses, the amniotic fluid drains and is replenished by the fluid you drink. So tons of water, cranberry juice is also good for taking away toxins.

You also need to get used to going to the bathroom lots, it will be like that for the rest of your pregnany, I get up 2-4 times a night usually to use the bathroom.

Another thing you have to remember is, do not go to the bathroom TOO often. Going too often will trick your bladder into thinking it needs to go more, which is why you end up trying with no urine coming out.

I haven't got a UTI so far and I am almost 28w...
