When should you start a baby registery?

Hi guys
was just wondering at how far along in the pregy should you decide to do a baby registery? Im 17 weeks and as we have recently moved from another country, we dont have anything! We need to start from scratch with this second bubbs!
I was told about a good idea about starting a registery online for those who are overseas and interstate...and I thought it was a good idea too! BUT WHEN???
I was thinking of waiting until we find out what we are having first (next month) and then do one...what do you all think?

I think waiting until late 2nd tri is probably a good idea. I know we get so impatient to get everything organized and all, but I think most showers happen much later (3rd tri?), so maybe time it with that?

yeah pretty much...

I just finalized mine. If you're going to have a baby shower get it done before the invitations go out. If not, then wait until after you know what the sex is.

It's just like a wish list.

I did mine about 2 weeks ago - about 6 weeks before my shower. I did use an online one, AGiftWish.com as I thought it would be easier since I am currently living in a different country.

I really dragged my feet on doing it but I found it really helped me feel organized. Now when the shower is done I basically have a shopping list of what I still need - so I don't feel worried that I haven't really bought anything yet.

I think we did mine after I was 20 weeks, and we knew we were having a girl.

Whenever you're ready its all personal preference.. I like to scan stuff in the stores and to do it online for family that can't come to the shower they can send a gift to my house
