Question

Leg swelling = Leg pain???

For anyone that is experiencing minor leg swelling, do you also get leg pain with it?

I've been getting leg pain for the last few weeks and just noticed minor leg swelling this weekend. Putting my feet above my heart with a heating blanket on my calfs seems to help. Unfortunatly, I've only been sitting at work for 3 hours and my legs are KILLING me.

Just wondering if anyone else thinks these two things might be related.

I would say get this checked out, as I don't think you should be having alot of pain, esp in your calves. I've got quite bad water retention, and have alot of swelling in my feet and ankles, as well as partly in my lower legs. Although the skin feels pretty tight, I don't really have any pain as such. Hope you get it sorted soon hun.
xx

Hi i've been getting achey legs the last few days too. I also had achey teeth and kind of self diagnosed it as possibly the calcium being leeched from me! But I am NO doctor!!!
I am not sure... I have the aches too though and sometimes it feels like I've run a marathon or stood up all day even though I clearly haven't.
Do you feel yours is muscular or vein-y type pain? I can't really decide!
xx

I get email preggo facts from What to Expect and this morning's just happened to discuss the onset of leg cramps, particularly in the calves, at this stage of pregnancy. They don't really know what causes it. I don't think water retention causes too much pain unless it's really extreme.
I would ask about it, regardless.

I think it's muscular. Feels like the ache you can get when you've walked too far (before you stiffen up).

I was going to post about this earlier. I've had it all day, and self diagnosed myself as having a DVT, but then i took some paracetamol, and it stopped hurting. lol
I would ask your m/w about it though if it continues.

Hi Codegirl, that's exactly what mine's like... like I've run lots or walked for hours and hours. I am the same! Wonder what it is... I find putting legs up a bit helps. Who knows?
x let me know if you find out anything!

Glad to hear Im not alone.

I lowered my chair at work and am still using the heating pad with my feet up at night. Seems to be helping. My legs having woken me up at night since I started using the heating pad and yesterday the pain got better after I changed my chair.

Wonder if we're just more suseptible to erginomic problems? (excuse the spelling please)
