Lots of Pain - Help!

Need some advice if anyone in online now and has maybe experienced this.

Since last night I've been in a lot of pain. It feels like very bad menstrual pain as that's the only thing I can compare it to. I assume the start of contractions will feel very similar as it's a constant pain that builds and then just ebbs back away to the constant pain.

I'm guessing this is Braxton Hicks but it's bloody sore and has been for the last 12 hours. When does it stop? Is there anything I can do to make it feel better?

braxton hicks shouldnt be painful apparently but i never had them so i cant really tell you if that is true or not, but it doesnt sound like labour pains to me at all, you dont have constant pain with labour its a pain that comes gets to a strong point then dies back off and you have time inbetween contractions where there is no pain at all, like say they came every 5 minutes well in the 5 minutes without contractions there would be no pain whatsoever. Maybe you should phone your midwife and explain to her what the pain is you are feeling and she can give you a good idea of what it is, sorry im not much help hun, hope it goes away soon xx

Ive only had two occassions so far when I had a contraction, and it was only one and it wasn't very painful, it was a bit, but more a tightening pressure.

Now... Ive also had extrememly bad stretching pains and they have lasted hours... Everything is so effin' so you can even sleep or get comfortable But for me this is more my whole stomach and especially the sides because of the ligaments that are stretching.

Thanks girls

I'm going to go with the stretching pains like Ryder suggested. It's not across my whole stomach though, but low down near my pelvis and moving upwards towards my uterus. However, I did have an operation three months ago on that area so the ligaments and muscles could be tighter than normal.

I'm off back to bed again to try and sleep. That's probably the only thing that will help.

I had that for one day around where you are. I think it was stretching. It hurt really bad. BUT... good news is I only had it one other time and it wasnt for a whole day.

It probably is only stretching but I would really contact your MW. If the worst came to the worst and it was odd contractions there are medical interventions to help stop them and if that were the case I would've thought the sooner you were treated the better. I hope it is just stretching of BH and that you feel better soon though!
