There's nothing WRONG with doing both but it's generally not a good idea for many reasons.

If you get an electric pump it only takes like 15mins to set it up and get your milk :\ Not really THAT much work. + It's a good idea to let daddy do a few midnight feeds when you're exhausted and need to rest.

Like Toria said, babies prefer bottles b/c they're easier to get milk out of and they don't need to suck as much so getting them to take to the breast after you've introduced the bottle might be hard. Also for more practical reasons. If your breasts aren't getting enough stimulation from the baby the milk will dry up :\

That's not true. My milk didn't dry up when I cut down to breast feeding once a day. I have managed to build it up to her being on my breast most of the time too. It's not easy though and I really would recommend people stick at breast feeding if they want to do it.

I'm getting the Avent bottles.
I'm not into trying breast feeding.
But do what's right for you hun.

Good for you Generally though, it can dry up. Also, as well you know it's REALLY hard to get back onto it as your breasts just aren't producing enough to solely feed the baby if you supplement with formula.
