Before I started to try and get her back to breast feeding fully she was only having one boob and was just fine with it. Now I'm trying to convert her back, she is having both though.

Did your boobs go funny or uneven when you was feeding from the one boob.....?? Did you still have to express the other one? Im getting quite worried about the whole breastfeeding issue....cos i really dont think i will be able to breastfeed from my left boob....I like te idea of doing both because i'm giving the baby my breastmilk but also i can do formula and give my boob(s) a break and my OH can do feeds too.....

I don't see anything wrong with using both breast & formula - it's whatever works best for you. Just that after however long breastfeeding I don't fancy being sat expressing so oh can share the feeds...

I dont see the difference in expressing and feeding. Its more for the daddy to be able to feed but its still me having to do the work....??!!

that's what I mean - gives me a break not having to express so bottle feeds will be formula...

Nah they didn't go uneven and I didn't express the other one. It managed to keep up with the one I was feeding from. I'm not sure how that happened but it would be dripping while I was feeding her!

I will say this, not to be a hypercrit, but to help: Please don't do both if you're not prepared to give up breast feeding. Babies prefer bottles because they are easy and they don't have to do any work for it. I'm trying to hard to get Caitlyn back to breast feeding and I'm sure I never will be able to fully. I miss the bond so much and it breaks my heart sometimes. She much prefered the bottle for a long time, although she is slowly starting to convert to prefering my boob as I cut down bottle time.

If you want to breast feed you need to stick at it for the right reasons. It is EXTREMELY hard and you have to be prepared to put up with the constant screaming. I wish someone had told me this: The screaming isn't bad, they are trying to bring more milk in for the next day, to build up more milk for themselves. It's a good thing and you just have to keep at it.

Do what you want, but doing both is difficult.

Im glad of that...i thought i would have one hard boob and one soft one.....or that one boob wouldnt produce enough milk....I will definately try with both boobs and even if I end up feeding out of one boob - as long as its enough for baby - then i will stick with one boob!
