| It's normal to feel anxious hun, but try not to worry yourself too much. If the midwife doesn't offer to listen to the heartbeat then you are perfectly within your rights to ask her to do so. As some of the other girls said, you will fee reassured once bubs begins to move, but in the meantime a doppler may be a good idea, as long as you remember that the heartbeat can sometimes be quite tricky to pick up, especially in the 1st half of your pregnancy.
