I'm Currently Feeling: | What a terrible night! - Long post! Hiya, well i woke up at 2am this morning with extremely painful tightenings in my tummy. They were so painful i could not move and i was in tears. My first thought was omg im in labour but as im only 24weeks that isnt a good thing! I tried to ignore them but they wouldnt go away so after 45mins i went toilet to check for blood, and there was none so i was a bit relieved but i was still doubled over in pain. I called NHS Direct who instructed me to phone my labour ward and speak to the midwife and take some paracetamol. So thats what i did. The paracetamol seemed to be working and the pains started to ease and i explained all to the labour ward and they said even though the pains have eased i must go in straight away as pains like this are not normal at 24weeks! So i was in a panic thinking i was going to lose Abigail and thinkin allsorts of horrible thoughts. I was monitered on CTG from 4.40am until 5.30 am and this indicated Abby was fine her heartbeat was excellent and she was moving alot, which i could feel anyways. So i had a urine test which was + Protein and + LEU. Which can indicate an infection so that has been sent off to the lab. I felt very sick and weak a couple of times i thought i may faint. At 5.45 the MW came in and said i had 2be examined by a doctor but they had gone to theatre to do an emergency c-section so i had to wait 2hours. So i got a little lap in and the MW came back at 9 and took BP which was fine and my Temp was fine, by this point the pains had stopped but they still said i had to be checked my doctor as they are not 100% on what is causing the pains. Doctor had to go back to theatre to do another emergency c-section so i discharged myself and am going to my GP for an emergency appt. The hospital said this was fine aslong as i see GP today! I couldnt stay in hospital though as my sister had Ella and i needed to be back for her. Im now just waiting for my GP to phone and confirm a time. I have never been so frightened in all my life It was the worst night of my life! xx |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I hope it is nothing serious and you get properly treated by your GP. Make sure they check you out properly though and go back to the hospital if you need to. You probably saw Cowhugger's post about kidney infections and also there can be a lot of pain and a great deal of complications with appendicitis if it could be this. Of course I hope it's not though! Good luck. |
