BLUE!
I can’t believe it. I’m having a boy!! I was convinced it was a girl.
We almost didn’t find out but I’m glad we did, 20 more weeks of thinking it was a girl - he’d have been a bit of a shock.
The sonographer was pretty sure, she said they are told to advise us not to buy anything in gender colours in case, but she said she’s be very surprised if it wasn’t a boy. She showed us a still shot of his bits from the top view and then she found the side profile for us.
We’ve decided to try to keep it to ourselves for a bit, it’s our little secret. But you guys won’t tell will you?

Lol.
We’d actually agreed on a girls name, we had a shortlist of 3 boys names, so we’ll have to think about what we’re going to call him (OH is still pushing for Lucifer, lol)
In other news. My placenta isn’t low, it’s on my right hand side and starts at the front and goes around to the back. We saw all the little bones in the hands and feet. And she showed me the heart pumping. She also found a small fleck of white (could be cartilage) in the left ventricle of the heart – she said it is common and sometimes just disappears, but they will keep an eye on it.
His head was firmly planted on my bladder meaning we couldn’t get head measurements. So she suggested we went for a walk and came back in half an hour. He had moved when we got back, now with his bum on my bladder, but still not clear enough so we have to go back next Thursday. Secretly I’m quite glad thou, as it means we can see LO again. She also couldn’t get a good look at his spine so that will also need checking.
The midwife was a student nurse and still learning, which was nice because she wanted to explain everything -but she did forget to do a few things (like date my Mat B1 form, and take our voucher for the scan pics). I told her I had fainted in my last 2 blood tests and luckily she got a senior nurse to take my blood and she had the forethought to make me lye down. And I was fine this time.
So that’s my news

We’re both really happy. Although, it’s still all sinking in.

Here are the pics, he almost looks like he’s sucking his thumb:
