Back pain and..

Helloo girls. Just wondering is it ok to lie on my stomach at my stage? As ive got a really sore and achey back. Is it ok to lie on my stomach so my OH can give me a massage? Its been worrying me cuz i dont want to hurt LO. Anyone else got really sore back? And how do you make it feel better?

I also got another quick question. When i first found out i was pregnant someone told me if ur bath is too hot it can cause miscarriage. is that true?? its been at the back of my mind since i was about 6 weeks pregnant. Im 17 weeks 2moro and its still bothering me lol

Thanks and hope everyone is ok
xx

I know it's not recommended that you lie on your stomach when sleeping, but I think if you're going to be on your stomach for a massage, that would be fine. I mean, DH likes to give me back massages and I lie on my tummy for those... even though LO will kick me sometimes, he's no worse for the wear! I figure if it gets too uncomfortable, change positions.

I'm not sure about the bath question...

I slept on my stomach for until much farther along than you are right now. The baby really is so small and has a lot of room in there--you aren't going to squish your LO by laying on your stomach . As for the bath, they tell you not to take hot baths because the baby can't regulate his/her own body temperature.

I've had some baths too since getting pregnant, not overly hot, but not cool either. I'm sure you're fine

I love a hot bath.....I havent had loads but I have to say I havent cooled them down any.

I think if you can lie on your tum then take advantage. I went to an osteopath for my neck/back and I was on my front during the treatment. I wish I still could - I love sleeping on my belly......

If you are worried about it you could always put a couple of pillows around your bump while you are lying on your tummy for the massage. That way the full force of your body would be resting on the pillows, not on your bump. But if it isn't uncomfortable at all for you I'm sure it is fine. Enjoy your massage! I wish my hubby would do that for me!
