Bleeding after sex??!

Ok...so at 10 weeks/+4 I was hospitalized for heavy bleeding after sex. There was nothing wrong....They said sperm might've sent my uterus into early contractions (that early?!) and that we could continue doing the deed. My OH and I haven't had sex in a while because we've been trying to be careful, but we finally did it last night. He said he didn't see any blood. When I went to the bathroom 15 minutes later there was just a drop in my underwear. No more than that...the bleeding did not continue. I figured it was probably nothing. We did it again this morning because I had no discomfort and no more bleeding and this time there was nothing there at all. Could it have been because we haven't had sex in a while? Or should I be worried? I have my 16 week scan on Thursday.

I dont think you need to worry - your cervix can be more delicate and little vessels can easily be damaged. So long as you dont bleed profusely I dont think you need to be concerned.

I'm mostly impressed that you've had sex twice in 24 hours!!! I'm so jealous!!! YOU GO GIRL!!!

Am sure you've got nothing to worry about. I've spotted my way through the whole pregnancy so far and have been told only to worry if bleeding gets heavy or with clots or pain. As Merv's mum said your cervix is very sensitive and has got unused to all this activity.

Also if mummy and daddy are happy then baby is more likely to be happy so you carry on!

Hi girls, I'm new on this site today and this post caught my eye cos this was a problem for me pre-pregnancy but has calmed ALOT since I conceived. Like the other girls have said, its a common problem and nothing to worry about as long as there is no pain and is not prolonged. Your cervix is just more sensitive now than before.
As for the sex, I think it is important to try and keep that alive with your partner. I have had a horrible first 8 weeks and didn't want to be around my partner let alone have sex with him! However, thing have improved in the past couple of weeks and we are almost back on our old routine - god how boring does that sound!
So you go for it Landingmach3! hehe

Yup, I had the same problem early on in my pg. I had very heavy bleeding after sex and was sure I was miscarrying. Once I hit 16 weeks it was no longer a problem. Being pg makes the glands inside your cervix more vulnerable and can cause bleeding. I don't think you have anything to worry about and should enjoy having sex as much as you want.
