I'm Currently Feeling: | I have to confess to being very good, in fact i think i deserve a gold star!! I can honestly say that no alcohol has passed my lips!!
Will let you into a little secret though!!
Its because the thought of having a glass of wine makes me want to be sick! Much rather have a glass of juice with ice!
Sad isn't it! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | It's funny that this thread should appear on here today, as I have just had my 1st glass of wine for 5 months! Haven't drunk at all during the pregnancy, but today I was wandering round Sainsbury's and I just really fancied a cold glass of Rose. Rang my Mum, whilst in the drinks aisle and asked what she thought. Once she had said that 1 small glass this far into the pregnancy should be fine, I promptly picked up my bottle and went on my merry way to the till.
Got home, did dinner and housework then sat down with a lovely chilled glass of vino. And it was lovely. Def satisfied my craving, and got no urge to drink the rest ( as I would have before I was preggers). Went straight to my head tho! In a nice, relaxed kinda way.
I say enjoy it as a treat once in a while, as I'm certain that the odd glass of wine can do no harm to bubs, who by this stage is fully formed. It'd be different if you were craving a can of Super Tenants or something, then I would be worried! lol

I'm Currently Feeling: | i don't disagree with people having a couple of drinks while pregnant, but i wont be. A can of fat Coke and my LO starts dancing so that tells me that the caffiene in it crossed my placenta, which probably means that alcohol will do the same, and I wouldn't give my 12 year old daughter alcohol so i wont be giving my unborn child any! xxx |

A small amout of alchocol sporadically has absolutly nothing to do with Fetal alchocol syndrom after the 12th week... |

Anyhoo, my sister had a few sips here and there and her boy is fine.
When I wanted some alcohol I just had some near beer. That is non alcoholic beer, it tasted a little watered down, but it hit the spot, nice and cold! Is there such a thing as non alcoholic wine? Cause then you could have as much as you want and not worry about the alcohol. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Its frustrating knowing intellectually that alcohol hasn't been proven or disproven to have impacts on the baby in small amounts, and because theres not enough research there no maximum recommended consumption, so, the medical world leans to the side of caution and says to have none... but... theres no real evidence that it really matters...
... and yet... even though I was a EVERY friday night bottle of champagne and saturday night, could be less or could be A LOT more kind of girl... I.... I cant bring myself to have a drink, for fear, for guilt, for a bit of parra... and... i think my partner would be upset (he's unimpressed that I still drink coffee)
Grrr! I am, however, planning to have one glass of champagne (maybe two) on my birthday in a couple of months, but I feel entitled to that one little perk, seeing as it'll be my 21st!!! | | | | Status: Offline
