I think the horror stories seem to be some sort of evil tradition. Like 'lets all tell the pregnant women about every awful thing that might happen to her'.
Some poeple take real glee in it.
I bought a baby grow today (so cute, it's white with little stars all over) my Boss, started laughing saying 'how tiny is that? but still - you have to get something that big out of you'. Which was ment in jest, but people do seem to HAVE to keept reminding me about the whole birth thing. Like I hadn't considered it

I think there is something to be said for not talking too much about the name. Whatever name you pick someone somewhere will not like it, or know someone awful who has that name, or find some thing to pick on about the name. I've not told anyone all of our top choices for exactly that reason.
