I'm Currently Feeling: | Child care - Need to move fast! I thought I'd take the opportunity to visit a Montessori school this afternoon to enquire about child care for Hebe next year.
Good job I went!! I had quite a shock!! I arrived unannounced as the prospectus says you are welcome to. The staff were lovely and the principal showed me round but not before warning me that they had no baby places for about a year!!! I gave her the out line of what I thought we needed and when and she said she'd check for availability.
I'll probably go back to work next July so I can get paid for the summer holidays so she'd only be there for a few weeks then we'd be off for the summer. She'd start properly in the September.
The actual place is absolutely fantastic. Its an old mill house set in wooded grounds and its quite small in terms of numbers - they only have a maximium of 8 babies and toddlers.
She's hoping to be able to accomodate us but she's going to have to tell me what days we could have - I only want 2 days a week!!!!
I'm glad I went!!! I thought I'd have AGES to get all this sorted out!!!
Dont get caught out ladies!!

I'm Currently Feeling: | your as organised as me ! i am returning to university in september and i have already booked my beanie into the uni's nursery and i am so glad i did it when i did as they only had a couple of places left! it was dead weird booking a place for a baby with no name (we put down 'Beanie' until we have the name!). The nursery has a really good reputation and dead handy for me and hubby.
Well done for going for a montessori school - they have a fab reputation for childcare.

I'm Currently Feeling: | Montessori school are notoriously hard to get places at. Nursey's on the other hand, arent so hard. Montessori school's are completely different and they teach etc in a different way.
When my friend was at school until she moved to New Zealand and started elementary, she was at Montessori schools until then, and her and her siblings had 10 weeks off for summer instead of the 6 we had at our school. They got to give more input into how they were being taught and everything. |

They are the only montessori school within about 15/20 miles. I just rang another nursery attached to a school with a very good reputation here, and they said that places for next july / sept wouldnt be a problem. Waiting for their prospectus now.
I now feel all churned up about it. What to do for the best... I wish I were stinking rich and didnt need to work at all.... |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Montessori school's are great. the way they handle learning etc is unlike any curricular at school. The child is able to take it into there own hands etc, and find a way to learn best for them. There are far less in this country than nurseries and are spread about alot more. To have one close to you, makes you lucky. I'd send my child to one if I knew where there was one near me. |
