I'm Currently Feeling: | URINE INFECTION and crap doctors!!! UPDATE pg 4 Im getting really fed up with my doctors!!
As some of you may know i had a urine infection a few weeks ago...so i went to the doctors and they gave me antib's...they made me sick for two days so they gave me some more which i took for 7 days....the cramping when i went wee eased but didnt go away....so i went back to the doctors last week and told her the urine infection hasnt gone....she took some wee and sent it off and said she will call me (she didnt give me anything) ...this was Thursday gone....i called them today for the results and was told that the results wont be there until this Thursday (i have an appt on Thursday) but by then i would have had the infection for a whole month!
The cramps are getting worse every time i go wee and (im assuming its my bladder) above my pelvic bone is swollen and tender to touch and it even hurts and cramps when i am not going wee. i have read everywhere that a urine infection is dangerous in pregnancy so why are my doctors not doing anything!!??
The number i have for my midwife is just ringing and ringing! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Sorry to hear you are not having an easy time of it Rachie.
I would get on the phone to your surgery to air your concerns to your doctor. You have every right to be concerned and are entitled to some answers from them.

I'm Currently Feeling: | Ive called them and the doctor is with a patient and have advised me to wait til Thursday....Im so annoyed!!
I feel like a moaning minnie and im gonna moan at my midwife too when i see her because i dont feel supported at all so far during this pregnancy. i dont have anyone to talk to regarding any concerns (apart from Baby n Bump ha ha) and the doctors arent any help. I thought that that was one of the things your midwife is there for. Its not as though this isnt my first and i have been through it all before! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Oh no you poor thing. I would phone up and make a real fuss to see someone tell them how ridiculous it is that you have not been treated properly and you are pregnant and it is really uncomfortable. I hope you manage to sort it out. i can totaly sympathise with you as before I got pregnant I used to get urine infections at least once a month. Hope you feel better soon xx |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Aww hun Im sorry to hear all your going through. Ring and keep ringing untill your given the support and advice you need, what is number 1 is you and your baby, and no amount of doctors or receptionists are going to alter that. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Drink cranberry juice.
Taking a bunch of anti-biotics is never good for anyone, pregnant or not. Taking them once in awhile when needed is good, but hun, if they have given you 2 rounds already, I would try and just drink lots of fluids and cranberry juice.
There are complications you can get from taking too many anti-biotics, one being c-difficile, and one being your body becomes immune to some anti-biotics which can screw you if you have something serious.
The doctors here dont like giving anti-biotics for bladder infections either. Even in our hospital they will get patients to drink lots of fluids and cranberry juice before they hand out drugs.
And when you are pregnant, alot of the soreness and cramping comes from being pregnant, not infections.
Trust me, I really do sympathize with you, im going through the same pains. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Another thing, dont go to the bathroom constantly, it will irritate your urethra making you very sore. Even though you have the urge to go constantly, try to wait until you actually can empty a decent amount of urine. |
